Lisa Milliger is an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from Duke University and her master’s degree in nursing (MSN), from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
After gaining experience in a variety of settings, including work in outpatient, inpatient, and university counseling settings over the past 14 years, Lisa has developed a skilled approach to personalized mental health care.
Lisa’s professional interests include working with young adults in the context of a developmental framework, reducing mental illness-related health disparities, the association between belief structures and health-related behaviors, the biopsychosocial basis of mental health conditions and subsequent interrelated responses, and holistic wellness.
Lisa’s treatment style is collaborative with an emphasis on empowering clients, providing psychoeducation, and developing safety and trust in therapeutic relationship. She is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care with particular interest in trauma and eating disorder-related psychiatric wellness.
