Lauren Francis is a licensed psychological associate who completed her clinical internship at Chrysalis before graduating with her MA in Clinical Psychology in December 2019. She has experience working with a variety of clients in an outpatient clinic setting, intensive outpatient program, and a university counseling center. Lauren takes a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy, while utilizing aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other treatment modalities as indicated. Lauren’s areas of clinical interest include eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders. She enjoys working with both adults and adolescents.
Lauren earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2016 and graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Appalachian State University where she wrote her thesis “Her Own Worst Enemy: The Relationship Among Fat Talk, Weight Teasing, and Disordered Eating Behavior”.
