Sydney Swan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who obtained her Masters of Social Work from UNCW. She completed her graduate internship at Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, Lake Waccamaw working with foster youth. Sydney enjoys working with kids, adolescents, and young adults. She has experience advocating and providing therapeutic care for foster youth and supporting foster parents in an outpatient setting. Additionally, she has experience as a Crisis Based Counselor for teens and adults affected by sexual violence as part of a Sexual Assault Services grant funded program in New Jersey. These experiences have provided Sydney with the skills and passion to understand and utilize trauma-informed care. Sydney’s specialty areas include trauma, anxiety, self-esteem and children’s issues. Sydney graduated with her BA in Psychology from Sonoma State University where she published research as part of the McNair Scholars Program. Her research focused on the relationship between childhood trauma and the factors of resilience.
