Katie Baker is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and works with adults seeking relief from relationship issues, codependency, self-esteem, eating disorders, body image. anxiety, and depression. She especially loves to help couples communicate more effectively by facilitating sessions that allow for each partner to gain a clearer understanding of and connection with the other. Katie is also trained in Internal Family Systems (Level 1) and often approaches therapy from the lens that we all have “parts” of us that, despite their best intentions, keep us from experiencing the connection with ourselves and others that we truly crave.
Katie received her bachelor’s degree in Theatre from UNCW and her master’s in counseling from Concordia University Irvine. Before her career as a therapist, she received her license in Massage and Bodywork Therapy and lived in New York, trying out careers in the creative, software, and financial industries. These experiences have enriched Katie’s knowledge of “the world of work,” so she is also happy to offer help to clients who feel stuck in or unsure of their jobs or careers. In session, Katie offers a calming presence and believes the therapeutic relationship can be a model of healthy connection, safety, and vulnerability while clients learn to heal and grow.
