Grace Hairr is an internship student in her final semester of UNCP’s Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She will also be receiving her Graduate Certificate in Addiction Counseling upon graduating in December. Before attending UNCP, Grace received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Biology from UNCW.
Grace takes a holistic and client-centered approach in her practice to meet clients’ needs and goals. Grace uses evidence-based therapies like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy. However, she modifies her therapeutic approach to meet each client’s needs. She has experience working in intensive outpatient therapy, and outpatient therapy settings. She has experience working with substance use disorders and has an interest in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and grief and loss. Grace focuses on facilitating change through creating a non-judgmental, consistent therapeutic relationship.
