Kate Nooner, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who helps children, adolescents, young adults, and families take positive approaches to build their best life. Dr. Nooner has extensive training in behavioral and cognitive approaches for a range of difficulties, including attention and behavior problems, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, and eating disorders. Dr. Nooner is also an expert in dialectic behavior therapy (DBT). In addition to being a part-time psychologist at the Chrysalis Center, Dr. Nooner is a professor in the Psychology Department at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she directs the Trauma and Resilience Laboratory. Dr. Nooner received her BA from Wellesley College and her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her clinical residency at Columbia University Medical Center and her postdoctoral fellowship at New York University’s Child Study Center. Dr. Nooner is an active member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Dr. Nooner also supervises provisionally licensed psychologists and licensed psychological associates.
